Linux Systems Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the business through contribution to technical direction. 

We want someone who can accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done. We want someone who understands DevOps principles and can apply them to the creation of simple and practical solutions that are efficient and fault tolerant.

The role would report to the Senior Director of Infrastructure/EUC. We are hiring one System Engineer for our office in Atlanta, GA and one for our office in Bloomington, MN.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Systems Engineer, you will

  • Build, administer, monitor and tune web, application, and database servers using the Linux stack
  • Manage CentOS/Redhat Linux operations and engineering, including backup, restore, recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting and configuration management
  • Automate tasks and processes using Puppet, Ansible and BASH
  • Design and manage monitoring and performance analysis systems

Who you are:

  • You need to be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
  • You have your BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • You have 5 years Linux administration or engineering experience
  • You have knowledge of the Linux stack
  • You have experience with 24/7 production datacenter environments (resilience and DR)
  • You have a strong understanding of security best practices and how to effectively implement them
  • You have knowledge of SAN storage, especially Nimble along with load balancing (A10) and clustering
  • You are able manage projects with tight timeframes
  • You are passionate about operational excellence and documentation
  • You have experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • You need to be able to commute to and work in an office environment and be able to lift 50lbs

It is a bonus if you have knowledge of and experience with:

  • Microsoft infrastructure stack
  • Python (for automation)
  • Host and cloud infrastructure (especially VMWare/ESXi with Azure)
  • Katello/Satellite6, GIT, and FreeIPA
  • Dell server hardware
  • Payment Card Industry (PCI)
