We have a spot for a Systems Administrator who has 3 years experience in system administration, including server operation. We are looking for someone curious, who likes to tinker and figure out the solution to a problem. A skill in generalized troubleshooting is the highest requirement.

What you’ll be doing:

Overall, in this role, you will be providing customer service driven IT support, as well as after-hours remote-access support. You’ll do multi-platform hardware and software installs, troubleshooting and repairs.

You will assist with issues via a ticket-based help desk system. We will rely on this role to provide vendor-supported applications and administer in both and Windows and Mac desktop/server environments. Other things you’ll manage are documentation for process, inventory for network equipment, computers and software, system backups and updates and providing regular information to the IT Manager.

Once the setup is done, you’ll pivot into other roles. We really need a generalist for this role.

Who you are:

  • You have 3 years’ experience in system administration
  • You have a BA in Computer Science or IT or related degree or for an unrelated degree you have 3-5 years of focused work experience in the role requirements
  • You have experience in Windows Server
  • You have a strong skill in generalized troubleshooting for hardware, software and networking
  • You have experience working with complex IT systems in a deadline sensitive environment
  • You have resilience, flexibility and can deliver solutions under pressure
  • You have basic experience with group policy
  • You exercise appropriate judgement when assessing user needs
  • You focus on doing things the right way and are process oriented
  • You are driven and work with minimal supervision
  • You communicate well in written and verbal forms and are effective at documenting processes
  • You are able to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels
  • You feel comfortable working with remote users via phone or remote access

It’s a bonus if you have experience in Office 365.
